How to Get an NSO Birth Certificate Online

An NSO birth certificate is required for almost every government procedure you're going to do in your life. From applying for a passport to claiming SSS benefits, having your birth certificate ready makes it easier to verify your identity.

You can request a copy of your birth certificate from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), which replaced the old National Statistics Office (NSO) and merged it with other government agencies.

It used to take almost a whole day of queueing to get ahold of your birth certificate, but now you can get your NSO birth certificate online. Here's a step-by-step guide (including screenshots) of how to do it:

Step1: Go to PSAHelpline.ph . Scroll down the bottom of the page and click the "Order Now" button.

Step 2: You can choose which certificate you want to request from the PSA. In this case, click the "Birth Certificate" button to order a copy of your birth certificate.

Step 3: Select the reason why you're requesting a birth certificate. Take note that you have to submit more information for some reasons, such as when using your birth certificate for travel and overseas employment.

Step 4: Fill out your birth certificate application form and click "Continue" when you're done.

Step 5: If you had previous modifications done to your birth certificate, indicate it on this page. Otherwise, just click "None."

Step 6: Type in the name of the person requesting for the birth certificate. If you're requesting for another person's birth certificate, indicate your relationship with that person.

Step 7: Fill out your delivery details. If you aren't available to receive your birth certificate, you may assign authorized representatives to receive the document for you, as long as they have an ID and a letter of authorization.

At the bottom of the page, indicate how many copies you want to request. Don't forget to tick the checkbox that says you accept all the terms and conditions. Double check all the information you provided before clicking "Continue."

Step 8: Your order summary appears on this page, including the reference number you can use to track your document. You may pay for your birth certificate through online and over-the-counter payment channels stated at the bottom of the page. Simply click your preferred payment method to get instructions on how to proceed.

Once you've paid, you can expect your birth certificate to arrive at your doorstep within 2-3 business days. You may check the status of your order by clicking the "Check Status" tab on the menu and entering your reference number.
